Delivered as part of the Adelaide City Council’s urban renewal project under Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor, this project involved the regeneration of an unused and dilapidated open-air structure into a commercial kitchen, café and associated amenities. The result is an open, airy timber pavilion surrounded by greenery.
The build presented significant challenges, including a site not accessible by road, construction over the Adelaide Town Hall’s major plant room, and coordination with multiple stakeholders such as the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Works also included major services upgrades to the lower plant room, including trade waste. Architecture and interior design by Sans-Arc Studio.
